Group Dynamic: Group is composed of our top 11 & older athletes. There is an emphasis placed on understanding goal setting, taking responsibility to support one’s own training through diet, rest, and other life choices, and linking training performance to those goals. Stroke efficiency is further refined through individualized stroke instruction. Emphasis on consistency in training techniques and is introduced to advanced dryland workouts. Swimmers in this group compete in Age Group State, Sectionals and above.
Entrance Requirements: Committed to attending a minimum of 6 practices a week, setting specific goals, and working to achieve those goals through training and life choices. Entrance to this group is determined by the Pre-Elite Coach's judgment of the swimmer's readiness to perform the yardage and time intervals required by this group. Ability to take instruction, make corrections, self-monitor time intervals, rep times, and maintain training focus are absolutely crucial to advance to this group.
Training Frequency: 1.5 - 2 hours per practice, 8x a week.
Equipment: RPC swim cap, pair of goggles, swim fins, kickboard, pull buoy, hand paddles, and a water bottle, all contained within a mesh bag.
Move up requirements from Silver to Gold: • Attend 28+ practices a month • Must achieve 1 current Sectional or higher standard meet qualifying time. • Regularly attend dryland workouts • Streamline off every wall • Ability to train at the interval and repetition level of the Gold/Elite Level workout group with minimal adaptation. • Swimmer must demonstrate a desire to swim and achieve goals at the Gold group level
