Novice Swim Skills Winter 2024 Jan-Apr

At the Novice level, swimmers increase their stamina to be able to swim 300 yards without stopping. We build off of our success with backstroke and freestyle from the pre-competition level and add in butterfly and breaststroke as swimmers develop the core strength and coordination to support themselves in the water.

Please make sure your child brings the following to workout:

Goggles, swim cap, unbreakable water bottle with water, swim fins that fit (a small tub of Vaseline/petroleum jelly is helpful to prevent discomfort from friction). It is helpful to keep all items in a mesh swim bag.

Please help your swimmer arrive ready to get into the pool at 4:30. Changing rooms are available and your coach is on deck by 4:15 or 4:20 to allow swimmers time to prep.

WORKOUT TIMES WINTER 2023:

M T W Th 4:30 to 5:30

Cost: $125/month (Nov prorated from Nov 18-30).

  • Please give us 2 weeks notice should your swimmer choose to discontinue or your schedule changes. With limited lane space there is sometimes a waiting list and this allows another family to get in as soon as possible.
  • We do not issue refunds for partial months or credit for sessions that are canceled due to weather, maintenance, child’s illness, vacation, or any other reason.
  • A 10% late charge will be assessed on the 10th of each month
IMPORTANT: Please register your child with USA Swimming. Fees are $35 for a Flex Membership for ages 11 & under. Create an account for you as a parent (free) and then one for your child (paid). This gives your child insurance coverage in the pool and provides a host of other benefits.

We are a non-profit USA Swimming affiliated team located in Sedona, AZ. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to working with your swimmer in the pool!

Race Pace Club AZ Service Points Policy

Your role as a participating club member is essential to the success of our team.  At the Novice level, we only ask for six service hours. This can be accomplished by simply attending our two online meetings to stay up-to-date, participating in a social event, being the "shower mom" who pre-heats the showers 5 minutes before the end of practice, helps label awards, brings birthday treats, donating gift cards, bringing your swimmer to a meet to cheer on teammates and help with a task, etc.

You and your family may choose to serve and earn additional points, but unfulfilled service points will be billed at the end of each 4-month season at the rate of $30 per unserved point.  To avoid being billed, it's crucial to read the and understand the Race Pace Club AZ Service Points Policy and how it relates to your family. With a positive attitude and a willingness to lend a hand, you will also have a great impact on your swimmer’s athletic environment, awareness of service to team/others, and love of swimming.

Your registration fee covers the first 30 days of the swim program. You will be automatically billed each month thereafter. Communication

Good communication with families is vital to the success of our little swimmers in the pool. We require that you enter your mobile/contact information on your registration as this is where our coaches look should your child become ill.  Please download the FREE SwimTopia app to your phone. We will send out blasts if there are any urgent communications such as having to get out of the pool for lightning or a last minute cancellation due to unexpected pool closure. You will also be invited to our WhatsApp family group where you can ask questions of other families, coaches, etc.

USA SWIMMING SAFE SPORT

We are a USA Swimming Safe Sport team.  To keep our designation, we require that one parent from each family be registered with USA Swimming and take the free USA Swimming Safe Sport class. This helps us keep all our swimmers safe in and out of the pool and lets parents and swimmers know how to help everyone have a fun, safe experience both in and out of the water.
